• Broad, Flat Jaws: Feature wide blades with horizontal or longitudinal serrations to provide a firm, non-slip grip on fibrous uterine tissues without causing tearing.
• Atraumatic Tips: The blunt, triangular-shaped ends allow for secure grasping while protecting delicate tissues from accidental puncturing.
• Ratchet Locking Mechanism: Located near the finger rings, this system allows the surgeon to lock the jaws in place, maintaining constant pressure without manual effort.
• Angled Construction: The blades often meet at an angle (straight or curved variants) to improve visibility and access in confined surgical spaces like the lower uterine segment. 

1. Cesarean Section (C-Section): The most common use is grasping the edges of the transverse incision in the lower uterine segment. Typically, four forceps are used—one at each angle and one on each edge—to control bleeding (hemostasis) and stabilize the tissue for suturing.
2. Hysterectomy & Myomectomy: Used to clamp uterine arteries or stabilize large fibroid masses during removal.
3. Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) Management: Applied in emergencies to quickly occlude bleeding points in the uterus.
4. General Surgery: Occasionally used to manage the rectus sheath during procedures like laparotomy or intestinal anastomosis.
